Take a guided night tour through Ōtari-Wilton’s Bush and discover some of the fascinating night-time residents on your way to see the titiwai/glow-worms. Enjoy the tranquil beauty of the bush after dark and witness the magical glow of these unique creatures.

This outdoor night-time tour takes just over an hour and is most suitable for those aged 5 years and older. The tour requires a moderate level of fitness, the route includes numerous steps to and from the glowworms.

Meet at the Ōtari Visitors Centre, 150 Wilton Road. Bring warm clothes, walking shoes, and a torch.

Dates: 2 & 30 May, 20, 23 & 27 June, 18 July, 15 August and 26 September.

Glow-worms have luminous tips at the ends of their Malpighian tubules – part of their excretory system – that emit bioluminescent light.
