Join ZEALANDIA sanctuary founder Jim Lynch as he traverses the full landscape of Wellington’s natural history.
Starting with a look at old Wellington’s special ecosystems, he recounts their fate up until 1990 when Wellington City was essentially a biological cot case with few species and little left of its original habitats.
From then he traces, through seldom-seen images and many behind-the-scenes stories, the remarkable sequence of events that have led to our city and region becoming a showcase and international leader in conservation and especially urban conservation.
Along the way Jim recalls the many remarkable people who have made this all possible. It is the story of a quarter century that has changed our city and region dramatically and forever. Don’t miss out! Doors open at 7:00 for a 7:30 start.
