Come along and celebrate the great work that Greening Taupō and Kids Greening Taupō do in the community with ‘Greening Taupō’ Join together to paint the town GREEN!

Celebrations will include a community Arbor Day Planting Event with support from Taupo District Council. Join in on Tauhara Road (across the road from the BP), 10 am–2 pm, to plant native trees, participate in the range of free activities and enjoy a free sausage or soup. Special guests will be there to entertain and educate, along with a huge range of conservation experts and local businesses running free fun activities. This planting is part of the long-term vision of creating native corridors into Taupō to bring native wildlife to urban Taupō and link up the remaining stands of native bush.

Get your staff to dress in green, decorate your shop/business in green, and collect donations for Greening Taupō and Kids Greening Taupō. Schools and ECE centres are encouraged to have a ‘Dress up in Green’ day and to collect gold coin donations. Participate in the Arbor Day Community Planting Day, or focus on environmental/conservation activities at your business or school for the day.

All money raised will go towards allowing Greening Taupō and Kids Greening Taupō to continue with the great work that they do. Together they have planted over 280,000 native trees in Taupō so far with the community, with many more planting days planned for 2025. They also provide free environmental education, native plants, events, and teacher professional development to kindergartens and schools in Taupō, Reporoa, and Tūrangi areas with 45 schools and ECE centres have restoration plantings supported by Kids Greening Taupō.
