World Soil Day (WSD) was started in 2014 as a means to focus attention on the importance of healthy soil and advocating for the sustainable management of soil resources. WSD is a unique global platform that not only celebrates soils but also empowers and engages citizens around the world to improve soil health.

World Soil Day

In 2014 the UN General Assembly designated 5 December as the official World Soil Day as a global awareness raising platform.

Celebrate World Soil Day on 5 December by planting a native tree/shrub, ground cover is a great way to reduce soil erosion.
