The Science Technicians Association of New Zealand is pleased to bring you ConSTANZ 2024 'Bridges to knowledge' is an exciting opportunity for science technicians and lab managers to come together to share our knowledge, engage in workshops, enjoy field trips in and around the Waikato, and network with colleagues and friends.
The Keynote Speaker will be Latisha Kelly (Curriculum Lead, Te Mahau | Te Tai Whenua, Te Tāhuhu o te Mātauranga | The Ministry of Education) who will look at the New Zealand Curriculum Refresh tailored specifically for science technicians.
There will also be the opportunity to see the Ms Information movie – a great documentary about microbiologist Dr Siouxsie Wiles during the Covid pandemic.
Workshops
There will be a wide range of workshops, covering everything from forensics, circuit boards, rongoā, hazardous waste management, geological processes and rocks, microscope maintenance, caring for animals in students and much more.
- The Science Learning Hub's Greta Dromgool and Andrea Soanes will be running a session on Getting the most from the Science Learning Hub – showcasing resources that have been created to support mana ōrite mō te mātauranga Māori and share ways different schools have included mātauranga in their programmes.
Field trips
Seelct from a variety of trips, such as Maungatautari Mountain, Hamilton Gardens, Hamilton zoo, Waitomo caves, Waikato river cruise ecological tour, Te Awa cycle trail along river and more.
