The role of the New Zealand plant conservation network (NZPCN) is to facilitate and advocate for plant conservation as well as providing information and support to plant conservation practitioners, landowners, and managers. The biennial conferences are highly regarded as the best place to meet people who are passionate about plant conservation and to network and collaborate on shared issues and challenges.

The next conference will take place in Queenstown in December 2022, the focus will be restoration ecology in New Zealand. Queenstown is seen as an ideal location to host a restoration focused conference given the extent of the conifer to native ecosystem conversion underway and the ever-increasing number and size of local restoration projects.
