The following articles provide pedagogical information, which will enable you to scaffold students' conceptual understanding of marine ecosystems and biodiversity.

They also suggest background resources and classroom activities that you may find helpful.

Biodiversity is the range of species found in a particular region. Aotearoa's biodiversity is uncommon due to our isolated location. We also have a wide variety of coastal environments and habitats, which makes New Zealand a hotspot for marine diversity.
