Summer bat walks 2017

Presentations, Promotion

Date: 04/01/17 to 30/01/17

Time: 8:15 pm to 10:15 pm

These evening walks with Auckland Council staff provides an interesting evening out for those who would like to know more about the Waitakere Ranges and its unique forest inhabitants. The initial part of the evening will be spent learning about the interesting ecology of our secretive Long-tailed bats and hopefully spotting them as dusk approaches. After dark we then head off for a one hour easy walk along a bush track to look at other nocturnal animals that inhabit the bush and stream.

This walk is within the capability of most able walkers. As the second part of the evening involves track walking in the dark, please consider this when booking. You are welcome to only participate in the bat information session and opt out of the walk if you wish. Costs, however, remain the same.

Dates: January 4, 9, 11, 16, 18, 23, 25, 30
Meet: Cascade/Kauri carpark, end of Falls Rd.
Time: 8.15 pm
Bring: A detailed list will be sent upon booking
